College Companion Curriculum 2.0
A complete 5-phase college planning curriculum for IECs — detailed assignments, 30+ student guides, a Consultant Playbook, and a Google Sheets tracker. Everything you need to run a structured, professional practice.
College Companion is a complete college planning curriculum for independent educational consultants — a fully structured system that guides students from initial self-discovery through final enrollment decision.
The curriculum is organized into five sequential phases that follow the natural arc of the college planning process: Student Discovery (fall, junior year), Strategic Positioning (fall–winter, junior year), College Research & List Development (January through summer), Application Strategy & Execution (summer through winter, senior year), and Outcomes & Decisions (December through May 1).
Across those five phases, students work through carefully designed assignments supported by professionally written, color-coded guides. Every assignment comes with student-facing instructions, IEC consultant notes, session tips, and guiding questions — so consultants spend their time advising, not building materials from scratch.
The system runs on two coordinated tools: a comprehensive Google Doc with nine tabbed sections covering every phase, a Consultant Playbook of five IEC-led practice milestones, and a full assignment map — alongside a companion Google Sheets spreadsheet with a complete assignment table, student-facing task list, and status tracker for managing an entire caseload at once.
College Companion is designed to be customized, not followed rigidly. IECs can adapt assignments, add their own resources, and brand the guides as their own. It supports both high-touch and low-touch practice models — and works entirely in Google Docs and Sheets, with no new platforms or subscriptions required.
